Good endings and good beginnings - Connector Specifier

Good endings and good beginnings

Mar 1, 2006

Connector Specifier has many changes afoot, and one will be the move from 12 to six print issues a year, beginning with the April/May issue. Although subscribers will be receiving fewer issues per year, those issues will be jammed with more content than the current monthly issues - more news, and more information on connectors, interconnection technology, products, and vendors. Not only will the issues be thicker, the amount of information we deliver via our bi-monthly e-Newsletters will increase from two times a month to three times a month. While the mix of print and digital content is shifting toward less print frequency and more digital frequency, nearly every week will bring you either a print issue in the mail, or an e-Newsletter with the most up-to-date, fresh information hot off the “presses.”

However, to keep from missing out on the extra information we will be delivering via your e-mail inbox, you must subscribe to the Connector Specifier e-Newsletter at www.connectorspecifier.com.

Irrespective of the changes to the mix of print and digital, another change is a sad but exciting one for me-I will be changing industries as I move in April to the consumer publication, Sky & Telescope, which is an astronomy-based magazine and publishing company in Cambridge, MA. Although I will deeply miss the people and events I have come to know over the past several years, this new position is the opportunity of a lifetime for me to combine two passions: editing and astronomy. This is my last month as editor-in-chief of Connector Specifier, but the magazine will continue under its steady leadership to excel as the primary source of information on fiberoptic and electronic connectors, cable, and related products and technology.

You’ll notice right away that this issue is much thicker than previous issues. That is because it contains our annual Buyer’s Guide, a resource containing all the connector and cabling vendors you need all year long. Our special supplement with the list of vendors by product category begins on p. 21.

Thanks for the memories, and enjoy this issue and many others to come.
