In his new position, Tawney is responsible for the training and coaching of district managers in CA, NV, AZ, and NM. The Eraser Company (Syracuse, NY), a manufacturer of wire, cable, and tube-processing equipment, has announced the appointment of Richard DePaulis as controller. DePaulis, in his new position, will oversee the financial management of the company. He brings over twenty-five years of experience in the manufacturing and information technology fields.
The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE; Piscataway, NJ), announced recently the selection of Jeffry W. Raynes, CAE, as its new executive director. Additionally, other IEEE board members were named at its meeting in Orlando, FL. The IEEE Assembly elected the following individuals to serve one-year terms on the IEEE board of directors beginning January 1, 2006: Moshe Kam - vice president, educational activities board, Saifur Rahman - vice president, publications services and products board, Pedro Ray - vice president, regional activities board, J. Roberto de Marca - IEEE secretary, and Joseph Lillie - IEEE treasurer. Additionally, two president-elect candidates were selected to run in the IEEE 2006 annual election: Lewis M. Terman and John R. Vig.

Bobby Xu has been appointed sales manager for AirBorn-China at new offices in Shanghai. Haruhiko Asakura has been appointed sales manager for AirBorn-Japan based at new offices in Tokyo.

Payne has 24 years of experience in manufacturing, sales, and as a supplier to the printed circuit industry. As business manager, his responsibilities include business development, customer satisfaction, contract negotiation, and account management.
Yazaki North America (Harrisburg, PA) a global producer of electrical distribution systems, fiberoptics, instrumentation, solid-state power centers, connection systems, and electronics, announced recently two new additions to its Y-connect Operations in an effort to expand the division’s electronic and fiberoptic connectivity solutions business serving data, video, and voice communications. Quincy Garvin, the newly appointed president, will oversee all aspects of Y-connect’s business. Before returning to North America, Garvin served as CEO of the Lucent/Yazaki joint venture in Japan and held numerous key positions spanning management, technology, and strategic planning for AT&T, Lucent Technologies, and Yazaki Corporation. Among his first acts as president, Garvin appointed Ruben Travieso as vice president of sales and operations.

ISA-The Instrumentation, Systems, and Automation Society (Research Triangle Park, NC), a global, nonprofit organization that develops standards in instrumentation, announced recently the addition of Patrick Gouhin as executive director as of January 3, 2006. At a special meeting of ISA’s executive board, Gouhin’s nomination from its Search Committee was accepted and he was appointed to the position.
