KITCO Fiber Optics wins military training award

Dec 1, 2005

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA - KITCO Fiber Optics has been named to the Military Training Technology “Top 100” List for 2005. The Top 100 list, compiled by Kerrigan Media International and Military Training Technology magazine, provides a listing of companies that have made a significant impact in the military training industry during the past year. The alphabetical list appears in the December issue of Military Training Technology.

Approximately 300 candidates provided information for the awards. Based on submissions and additional information, the publication’s editorial board and a panel of independent experts then selected 100 winners. Companies were selected based on criteria including total military sales, end-user feedback, innovations, and need for the solution.

Kerrigan Media cited KITCO for its accomplishments in the field of military training: “With the exponential increase of fiber optics across the military community, training for service and maintenance is more necessary. The U.S. Navy has again selected KITCO as the exclusive provider of the Fiber Optic Maintenance Technician Course, and the course is the only Naval Education and Training Command (NETC) approved fiber optic training course. KITCO also trains Navy and Coast Guard sailors, Army and Marine Corps warfighters, defense contractors, and shipyard employees on fiber optic theory.”

KITCO Fiber Optics provides fiberoptic connectorization products, training, and consulting services to the military and commercial communications industry, specializing in the design and fabrication of fiberoptic tools, tool kits, custom cable assemblies, and private label kits for several major connector manufacturers.
