Fischer Connectors has introduced its UltiMate Military Connectors line of secure interconnect solutions for defense applications. The first product, the Fischer LandForce Series, offers compact, rugged, lightweight circular connectors for protection of soldiers, vehicles, and other land-based equipment. Key features of the new series include a miniature, ultralight, rugged design, ultra-robust keying, high shock and vibration resistance, excellent shielding, and an ultimate sealing level in accordance with IP68/69K, even when unmated with proprietary facilitated cable assembly solutions.

The Fischer LandForce Series offers EMC 360° high performance shielding, tested according to IEC norm 60512-23-3, four robust mechanical codings allowing easy mating even in the dark, and a range of configurations, including multi-pole contacts from 2 to 19 poles. The plug is available in two body sizes, with push-pull locking or emergency release. Additional body styles, sizes, and contact configurations are forthcoming, says the company.

Designed for easy field cleaning, the LandForce connectors also target nuclear, biological, chemical, and radiological (NBCR) environments, achieving an IP68/69K sealing level even when unmated, tested according to IEC norm 60529.

Made of high resistance aluminium, the connectors are 50 percent lighter than typical metal connectors, claims Fischer. With a rugged design for harsh environments as well as vibration and corrosion resistance, the connectors are designed to be immune to the toughest elements including fog, salt spray (5 percent, 35°C, MIL STD-202 Method101A), sand, and moisture. They are guaranteed for up to 10,000 mating cycles. For more information, visit Fischer Connectors online.
