Heilind Electronics Inc. acquired Thompson Electronic Supplies, a Columbus, Ohio-based electronic-components distributor. Heilind president Robert W. Clapp said the acquisition will boost the company's ability to support customers in the Midwestern United States. Privately held Thompson serves electronics original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) as well as contract manufacturers.
Among the featured product lines that Thompson carries are 3M, ABB, Alpha, Anderson Power Products, Carling Technologies, HellermannTyton, Marathon Special Producsts, Orion Fans and TE Connectivity.
Heilind has 25 sales offices, two automated distribution centers and an extensive line card that, alphabetically, runs from Aavid/Thermalloy to Zettler Magnetics.
