European electronic, electrical and industrial components distributor RS Components (UK) has announced stock availability of the Cabline-VS connector system from I-PEX. The system is especially designed to transmit signals according to the new DisplayPort specification from governing body VESA, say the companies.

A low-profile, surface-mount connector, the Cabline-VS features a maximum mated height of 1.1 mm. The 0.5 mm pitch contacts feature an advanced ‘W’ section wiping contact to provide a high number of mating cycles; additionally, the connector can be fitted with a pull-bar option to make mating and un-mating easier.
The connector's design features an overall shield with multi-point grounding to provide the best possible performance when transmitting data at high speeds. The Cabline-VS is designed to accept a broad range of cable types, including AWG 44 small gauge cable and discrete AWG 32 cable.
Constructed from high-performance materials, the Cabline-VS connectors are RoHS compliant and halogen free, says I-PEX.
