Omnetics Connector Corporation has announced its OmneMed line of plastic circular connectors, featuring the company's EnduroNest hyperboloid contacts. The electrical connector will primarily be used on medical cable harnesses to make the connection to the control or instrument panel. The connectors are capable of over 10,000 mating cycles and can be attached to cables either in production or by end users.

The EnduroNest contacts are a hyperboloid style contact incorporating a solid pin. This pin mates with a nest of gold plated wires providing a high integrity electrical interface with low mating force. It is highly resistant to shock and is able to sustain performance for a high number of mating cycles (100,000 cycles).

Omnetics Announces their OmneMed Line of Plastic Circular Connectors

Omnetics Connector Corporation, the leading manufacturer of miniature high-rel connectors, has announced its OmneMed line of high quality, plastic circular connectors featuring the EnduroNest hyperboloid contacts.

Minneapolis, Minnesota -- Omnetics Connector Corporation, the leading manufacturer of miniature high-rel connectors, has announced its OmneMed line of high quality, plastic circular connectors featuring the EnduroNest hyperboloid contacts.

EnduroNest contacts are a Hyperboloid style contact incorporating a solid pin. This pin mates with a nest of gold plated wires providing a high integrity electrical interface with low mating force. This style of contact has long been considered among the most reliable in the industry. It is highly resistant to shock and is able to sustain performance for a high number of mating cycles (100,000 cycles).

OmneMed series of plastic connectors are ergonomic easy to handle connectors that are ideal for the I/O interface on instrument control units. These high end connectors are perfect for applications where low mating force and high numbers of mating cycles are needed. High Impact Polycarbonate shells can withstand the harshest environments.

The low profile latching system offers an audible click to let the user know that a positive lock was achieved. OmneMed connectors are available in kits with crimp or soldercup contacts that can be user assembled or as a part of a complete cable solution from Omnetics.

Joe Held, International Sales Manager, states: "The OmneMed series is an electrical connector that will primarily be used on medical cable harnesses to make the connection to the control or instrument panel. These connectors are capable of over 10,000 mating cycles and can be attached to cables either in our production facility or by the end user with minimal tooling."
