VERTICAL CONNECTORS
![]() |
These two new 280-position vertical card-edge connectors enable the implementation of high-speed, serial PCI Express signaling to riser cards in rack-mount servers. Connector series 10037901 is keyed to accept either a standard PCI Express x8 add-in card or a 280-position riser card that can support PCI, PCI-X, or PCI Express add-in cards. Dual-row, card-edge contacts on 1.0-mm pitch are offset to form four rows of through-mount soldertails on 2.0-mm pitch for easy wave soldering. The soldertail length supports use on 2.36-mm-thick motherboards. Metal board-locks provide connector-to-motherboard retention prior to soldering.

Z-Alloy connectors combine the reliability of solid metallic contacts with the flexibility of the silicone support material into one economical package. The Z-Alloy conductors are corrosion-resistant and offer a savings compared to traditional gold-plated contacts. Z-Alloy connectors feature 0.05-mm-wide conductors on 0.1-mm centers for a conductor density of 250/". Despite the fine geometry of the contacts, the Z-Alloy material is strong and durable enough to withstand repeated uses, and will not break or fracture.

SC AND ST CONNECTORS
![]() |
FAST connectors are pre-polished, field-installable SC and ST connectors that eliminate the need for hand polishing in the field. FAST connectors provide consistent splice quality, virtually eliminating return-loss concerns. The connectors feature a pre-stubbed, factory-polished ferrule that couples to the fiber being terminated by a proprietary gel. The factory-installed wedge clip holds the clamping device open while the fiber is inserted. Once the fiber is in place, the wedge clip is removed and discarded.
