ECA honors technical achievement
The Electronic Components, Assemblies & Materials Association (ECA) (Arlington, VA), in conjunction with the 25th anniversary of the Capacitor and Resistor Technology Symposium (CARTS) USA, held in Palm Springs, CA, has recently honored technical achievement with the Dr. Felix Zandman Industry Leadership Award, named after the founder, chairman, and chief technical and business development officer of Vishay Intertechnology (Malvern, PA).
The award was presented on Sunday, March 20, at the Pioneers Reception, honoring CARTS participants since the symposium’s beginning in 1981. Award winners were selected based on criteria such as technical accomplishment, outstanding service and dedication, academic achievement or support, and industry leadership and vision.
The award’s namesake, Dr. Felix Zandman, is a noted author and innovator who has published four textbooks and many scientific papers. He holds 39 patents in the United States and abroad. Zandman’s many honors and awards include the Electronic Industries Alliance (EIA) Medal of Honor, the Order of Merit for Research and Invention (France), the Distinguished Contribution Award from the American Society for Stress Analysis, the Franklin Institute Medal for Science, the Best Strategic Investor Award from the Israel Manufacturers Association (awarded by the president of Israel), and the Legion of Honor (awarded by the president of France).
