The Instrumentation, Systems, and Automation Society (ISA; Reasearch Triangle Park, NC), a non-profit, educational organization in automation and control, announced recently the 2005 president of the Society, Donald W. Zee. Zee will lead the ISA executive board in overseeing ISA’s 60th year of operation. Zee succeeds Lowell McCaw and previously served the Society on the executive board and executive committee as treasure of the Society from 1998 to 2002. In addition, ISA also announced that Kenneth R. Baker has been elected president-elect secretary. He will become ISA president in 2006. Active in numerous leadership roles with the Society for more than 20 years, Baker is retired from Eli Lilly and Company, where he held various engineering management positions.
NuSil Technology (Carpinteria, CA), formulator of silicone materials for the healthcare, aerospace, electronics, and photonics industries, announced recently the expansion of its representative resources in Asia. Four representatives were added recently to bolster sales support for its Lightspan-brand photonics and low-outgassing electronic materials. The four representatives and territories are: K Ohama in Japan; QTEM in South Korea; Fitek in Taiwan, Hong Kong and mainland China; and WCM Technologies in Malaysia.
In addition, NuSil has also announced that it has expanded its roster of distribution resources in Europe and the Middle East by adding two new representatives to support all of NuSil’s product lines. The two distributors are New Tech in Vignola, Italy, and Tech-Knowledge in Tel Aviv, Israel.

Jonard Industries (Tuckahoe, NY) supplier of tools, devices, and instruments to the telecom, computer, military, and electronic industries, announced recently the acquisition of the Cooper Hand Tools (Raleigh, NC) telecom plier line. This comes after The Cooper Hand Tools Division has decided to exit the telecom pliers market. Jonard Industries will continue to sell Cooper brand Telecom pliers until the Cooper inventory is depleted. Subsequently Jonard Industries will supply these Bell-company-designed pliers under the Jonard brand name.

Juki Automation Systems (Morrisville, NC), supplier of SMT automated assembly equipment to the printed circuit board assembly market, has announced recently the appointment of Robert Black, Jr. as president and CEO of Juki Automation Systems. Black, the former chairman of the board and CEO of the organization, is returning to lead the company, replacing Kaz Nomoto, who has been promoted to general manager of the EATS Planning Division for Tokyo-based Juki Corporation and chairman of Juki Automation Systems.
