Harwin has expanded its EZ-BoardWare series of surface mount PCB hardware products to include new SMT board sockets, billed as a less expensive alternative to turned contact PCB sockets for less demanding applications. Like all the EZ-BoardWare products, Harwin says the the new sockets are designed for automated production processes, optimized to withstand surface mount assembly and shipped in standard tape-and-reel packaging. “It’s important to choose the correct device to match the application,” comments Paul Gillam, product manager at Harwin. “Harsh operating conditions may mean that turned sockets are required, however, our EZ-SMT Board Sockets meet most requirements at a fraction of the cost.”
