The SnapN connectors are the first quick-lock connectors compatible with N connectors. SnapN jacks (female) can be mated with N plugs (male) with standard interfaces. Due to the quick-lock coupling mechanism, engagement force is approximately 30 N, and the mating process of SnapN connectors is approximately ten times faster than installing standard N connectors. The outer diameter of 16 mm leads to higher packing densities. The connectors can be used up to 11 GHz in applications like filters for mobile base stations, cable connections for mobile base stations, test and measurement equipment, or wireless LAN. The new Tru-Lok two-pin connector series with 1.5-mm socket contacts features a molded thermoplastic main plug body and secondary latch with Viton main seals and wire seals. Tru-Lok connectors are designed to perform in demanding environments, such as under-valve covers on diesel engines and in various under-hood interconnect applications. In addition, the series features the RADSOK contact system, which is a patented electrical terminal based on a hyperbolic grid configuration. The hyperbolic configuration ensures a large coaxial, face-to-face engagement area for a low milli-volt drop connection with low insertion force. A new line of ESD filter-composite connectors for circular, rack and panel, and D-sub-miniature receptacles has been made available. Offering the best protection against EMI and ESD environments, the new connectors are ideal for power-management systems, video-processing equipment, and military-fighter-jet applications. ESD connectors benefit from a faraday cage, which protects the components inside the connector from electrostatic discharges. A composite material shell increases durability (up to 1,500 cycles) and is able to resist severe corrosion of up to 2,000 hours of salt spray. SABRITEC, IRVINE, CA www.sabritec.com

CABLE CONNECTORS

The standard Buccaneer connector range has been expanded with the launch of a PCB-mount panel version. Available in 3-, 6-, 9-, 12-, and 25-way, all variants are fully loaded with gold-plated pin or socket contacts. PC spill length is 3.5-mm long and 1.0-mm diameter. Current ratings are from 10 A, 250 V to 1 A, 50 V. This new addition to the range reduces assembly times and processes, making it ideal for volume applications where production costs need to be reduced to a minimum and system modularity is crucial. Designed for applications requiring low-profile compact footprint interconnects between printed circuit boards or components, the low-profile board-to-board connectors offer a low mated height of 0.81 mm in custom, flexible footprint configurations, with contact spacing as close as 1.0 mm. In addition, the connectors provide excellent high-speed performance, easily supporting signal speeds in excess of 20 GHz with contact resistance less than 25 mΩ. The unique combination of mechanical and electrical features makes the low-profile connectors an ideal choice for RF board-to-board assemblies, low-profile mezzanine boards, and high-performance component-to-board assemblies in computer, communications, and medical electronics market applications. These new small-form-factor LC and MU attenuators feature a build-out design and INO high-attenuation fiber with cladding-mode suppression. LC, LC/APC, and MU SFF attenuators demonstrate many benefits for standard single-mode fiber applications, such as low-back reflection at >56 dB for UPC polish and >65 dB for APC polish, and minor modal interference effects at <0.05 dB. Precise attenuation values are available from 1,260 to 1,630 nm, and attenuation variation is less than or equal to ±0.5 dB for 1 to 10 dB and less than or equal to ±5% over 10 dB. The single-row Clincher 2.54-mm pitch connectors come with options for keying and active latching. The new addition of polarization keys assure proper connector orientation to corresponding shrouded headers and active latching options protect against accidental unmating from shock or vibration, making Clincher connectors ideal for white-goods applications. The connectors have been narrowed to mate with all industry-standard shrouded headers. Other applications include membrane switches, industrial equipment and instrumentation, automotive electronics, and displays. FCI, ETTERS, PA www.fciconnect.com

The innovative TDP (triad differential pair) family uses a “triad” design of differential signal and ground lines to achieve bandwidths up to 5.0 Gbit/s and beyond. The shielded, dual-row, cable-to-board interface offers high speed and controlled impedance. The TDP family is available in sizes of 18, 28, 38, 48, and 72 circuits, with capability of other select sizes. It is comprised of a fully shielded receptacle and plug for maximum EMI/RFI protection. The in-line SMT receptacle optimizes PCB routing, and the low 7.00-mm (0.276”) profile makes TDP an ideal choice where height considerations are a factor. MOLEX, LISLE, IL www.molex.com

RIGHT-ANGLE PLUGS
