The Rubalit HSS, an aluminum-oxide ceramic substrate, offers high strength and elasticity and outstanding thermal properties. The substrate features an ultra-fine microstructure and highly consistent surface quality. Available in thicknesses 0.008, 0.010, and 0.015", it is ideal for applications where high power densities and component miniaturization are called for. Suggested applications include automotive, power supply, sensing, durable goods, telecom, medical, and aerospace systems. CERAMTEC, LAURENS, SC www.ceramtec.com

POLYIMIDE MASKING TAPES

CHR brand K-201 and K-202 polyimide film silicone adhesive pressure sensitive tapes are designed for fine-line masking in competitive PCB finger masking applications, as well as in demanding appliance powder-coating applications. Featuring a durable, low-cost polyimide film combined with a no-residue, fully cross-linked silicone adhesive, these non-UL high-temperature tapes broaden CHR's K-series product line. K-201 with its 1-mil film substrate and K-202 with its 2-mil backing provide flexible, durable resistance to chemicals, abrasion, contamination, and high temperature to produce the desired results. These thermally conductive potting/encapsulating compounds are ideal for sealing electrical components or wiring in applications where heat dissipation is required. These versatile, low-shrink, epoxide formulations mix and pour easily, fill voids completely, and cure with minimal air entrapment. If necessary, a casting's heat tolerance can be boosted and its cure speed quickened by heating the compounds during the curing process. Syon products are available in a range of package sizes from disposable, single-application Acu-paks to bulk containers. DEVCON, DANVERS, MA www.devcon.com

SHOCK-ABSORBING EPOXY

An eight-minute general-purpose shock absorbing expoxy, 5432, is for use in applications such as affixing metal to concrete, concrete to concrete, filling gaps, or fastening two dissimilar materials. The two-component, thixotropic epoxy achieves an initial bond in less than 10 minutes and is hard to the touch in less than an hour. It is economically dispensed from the company's 1:1 ratio dual-pac adhesives package. Unlike other fast-curing epoxies, this maintains its toughened strength with age. It is also ideal for outdoor applications because it is resistant to ultraviolet light. APPLI-TEC, HAVERHILL, MA www.appli-tec.com

MOLDING COMPOUND

Hysol GR725-AG, a high-temperature semiconductor molding compound, ideally suited for underhood automotive applications and capable of withstanding harsh environmental conditions, is a material that replaces epoxy molding compounds containing brominated flame retardants and antimony trioxide, which can degrade the gold wire/aluminum pad interconnects at elevated temperatures, causing increased resistance and reliability issues. This compound is specifically designed for high-temperature SO packages and surface-mount discrete packages operating at high temperatures where good electrical stability is required. The MACbond (IB series) is a family of double-coated tapes that offers high tack for solid bond with minimal increase in the total thickness of your product. MACbond's moisture-stable liner keeps the adhesive layer clean and flat during manufacturing and through thousands of day-to-day uses. By doing so, MACbond protects against dust, dirt, or other particles that can invade a lens area—especially in touchscreen applications where such invasions impair accuracy. The new, all steel, removable, element in-line mixers are ideal for industrial markets, and are designed to mix two-component synthetic resins and materials with fillers including silicones and silicone foams. Constructed from high-quality 316 stainless steel, the mixers feature removable/replaceable elements for easy cleaning. The mixers are available in diameters from 5/16 to 3/4" and lengths of 12 or 18 elements. CONPRO TEC, SALEM, NH www.mixpacusa.com
