Offered for both industry-standard 19" as well as LGX-compatible racks, these packaging options make it easier for users of high-performance communications systems to integrate CWDM devices into existing installations. The CWDM muxes, demuxes, and OADMs can now be optioned for either 19" or LGX-compatible racks, including Tsunami Metro-Channel and MiniMetro modules. The 19" packaging option is available in a 1/2-RU size, which offers twice the density of the standard 1-RU box. Both the 19" and LGX packaging options are available with industry standard SC or LC fiberoptic connectors and provide low link loss. STRATOS LIGHTWAVE, CHICAGO, IL www.stratoslightwave.com

PCB TERMINAL BLOCKS

The 8152 series of modular terminal blocks is suitable for industrial applications. It features 5-mm-spaced spring-clamp connections, which are available in modular "slices" for a configuration that does not require special tools. The series is manufactured from polyamide with double-solder pins (both common) for a secure PCB connection, and a common-current-carrying bar links the termination points. It is UL- and CSA-approved at 300 V, 10 A, and 22 to 14 AWG. Horizontal and vertical versions are available, which provide termination and conductor insertion on the same plane for easy-access wiring. WIELAND ELECTRIC, BURGAW, NC www.wielandelectric.com

GROUNDING AND BONDING KITS

This complete line of grounding and bonding kits is essential for providing the proper grounding needed on electronic equipment mounted in cabinets and racks. The kits provide a comprehensive system to assure compliance to ANSI/J-STD-607-A standards, thus maximizing safety conditions and electronic system performance. The pre-configured kits have factory terminated leads for quick and easy field installation. The kits include solid copper grounding bars, braided straps, terminated copper wire leads and lugs, insulator posts, and the necessary hardware for mounting to the inside of cabinet doors and equipment racks. FUSE HOLDER

This recently expanded broad line of printed circuit board terminal blocks, the "new" horizontal PCB fuse-holders, has been designed to take the popular 5 × 20 mm fuses and are available for a low cost. The high-quality fuse holder solders directly to the PCB and encloses the metal parts of the fuse. A convenient cover is available that acts as an extractor when the fuse is being removed from the circuit. AUTOMATION SYSTEMS INTERCONNECT, CARLISLE, PA www.asi-ez.com

TEST SOCKET

The RF center probe test socket is for devices from 14 to 27 mm2. The new socket is ideal for manual testing of devices with pitches down to 0.50 mm in applications with speeds from 1 GHz to more than 10 GHz, such as CSP, MicroBGA, MLF, QFN, DSP, LGA, SRAM, DRAM, and Flash devices. A four-point spring probe crown on the new socket ensures "scrub" on solder ball oxides for reliable contact mating. For MLF and QFN packages, the socket also incorporates a raised point probe for accurate placement on scrub on small pads. ARIES ELECTRONICS, FRENCHTOWN, NJ www.arieselec.com

CABLE ASSEMBLIES

These new in-vacuum ribbon cable assemblies are available in cable configurations of 9, 15, 25, or 50 conductor assemblies. Each of the Kapton wrapped stranded 22 AWG silver-plated copper conductors are woven with a PEEK (polyetheretherketone) monofilament to achieve the ribbon cable form. The multistranded wrapped cable offers the most flexible solution and has a temperature range up to 200°C. All ribbon cable assemblies are baked out prior to shipping to minimize any trapped gases. Designed to handle high current ratings up to 7 A depending on the application, the SMT socket provides a small footprint, low-profile solution for surface-mount application needs. The socket has the flexibility to accommodate either a power or signal connection, and with it a capacity to handle a high number of mating cycles. It is ideal for high-density applications and demanding environments. The socket is available in tape and reel in a standard tape-pocket format, which allows the use of a standard pick-and-place tape feeder. ZIERICK, MT. KISCO, NY www.zierick.com

HIGH-DENSITY CABLE ASSEMBLIES

This new line of Para-Optix cable assemblies supports optical high-density parallel applications. These assemblies are based on the standard MTP/MPO connector system and can support up to 72 fibers through a single MTP-style connector. They can be mated using a standard MPO coupling adapter in faceplate applications or can be used with the high-density XTM transceivers. TYCO ELECTRONICS, HARRISBURG, PA www.tycoelectronics.com

PLUG-AND-PLAY MONITOR

This wireless monitor system effectively replaces the cables for the keyboard, video, and mouse (KVM) on a standard PC with a wireless RF communications link. A wireless transmitter is connected to the PC through standard analog VGA, keyboard, mouse, and audio inputs. At the KVM end, the keyboard, mouse, and audio speaker are attached to a wireless receiver embedded in the LCD monitor housing. It is completely plug-and-play, requiring no new operating system, drivers, or application software. THREE-FIVE SYSTEMS, TEMPE, AZ www.tfsc.com

CARD GUIDES

A new series of surface-mount compatible test points for PCBs are now available with lead-free plating. The new plating option makes them compliant with EU Directive 2002/95/EC. Due to their tubular design, the SMT test points provide an ideal point of attachment to surface-mount boards for scope probes, etc. Three sizes of test points are available which match common chip resistor footprints, 0603, 0805, and 1206, and therefore ease board layout. Electrical specifications of these parts include a current rating of 2A and a contact resistance of <50 mΩ. E-MARK, SHELTON, CT www.e-markinc.com

WATERPROOF CABLE ASSEMBLY

This new waterproof USB cable assembly product offering was created to prevent cables and connectors from falling prey to the elements of water and dust. Standard USB cables and connectors are not intended to withstand those contaminants. By using rugged, molded outer shells and a threaded coupling with an O-ring seal, these products are IEC IP67 rated. Two types of assemblies are offered in a variety of lengths: Waterproof USB A male to standard USB B male (WPUSBAB series) and waterproof, panel mountable USB-A female to standard USB-A male (WPUSBAX series).
