75-Ω CABLE ASSEMBLY
![]() |
New 75-Ω cable assembly features a new series of BNC-dig connectors that were developed specifically for the demanding requirements of HDTV and DTV broadcast applications. The BNC-dig is a true 75-Ω connector, whereas standard BNC cable plugs typically have a return loss of -14dB, the BNC-dig connector's typical return loss is -30 dB or better at frequencies up to 3 GHz. This cable assembly can be used for transmitting data rates greater than 1.5 Gbit/s and with an effective bandwidth of 2.4 GHz. TELEGARTNER, FRANKLIN PARK, IL

BACKPLANE ASSEMBLY
![]() |
The new EYE-OPENER ZD Cable Assembly for the ZD backplane interface, uses expanded polytetrafluoroethylene (ePTFE) as the dielectric core for the digital interconnect cable. The helically wrapped ePTFE core ensures controlled electrical properties throughout the signal path. Its smaller diameter and minimum bend radius, combined with the low dielectric constant materials, allows more signal lines per area and delivers higher bandwidth performance more consistently than other comparable cable configurations. The cable assembly offers a consistent combination of low signal loss, low cross talk, low skew, controlled capacitance, and controlled impedance. W.L. GORE, ELKTON, MD

FAN-OUT ASSEMBLIES
![]() |
These new compact, durable, and cost-effective, fan-out assemblies utilizes Concours Optical Circuit technology. These fan-out assemblies transition one or more multi-fiber ribbons into individual 900 µm buffered fibers for termination to any single-fiber or duplex connector type. The transition is protected with a compact hard backing that adds strength to the low profile design. This product is an excellent choice for all optical module boxes and enclosures. The streamlined fan-out design minimizes the transition space required for multi-fiber ribbon to individual buffered fibers by eliminating the traditional, cumbersome breakout box. WIRING MODULES
![]() |
These new modules enable quick connection to the inline automation system's discrete input/output terminals. Wiring time is considerably reduced and is done in just three steps. The new front adapters are easily plugged into the 8-, 16- and 32-channel inline automation terminals and linked to the varioface modules using pre-assembled system cables. Using a 32-channel inline high-density automation terminal and an interposing relay level requires 30% less space and offers far more flexibility than an integrated relay solution.
