Bi-lobe connectors are built to MIL-DTL-32139 design specifications. Key to their high reliability is the Mil-Spec performance of the "Omnetics Spring Pin" and socket system at 25 mil. pitch. A captive jackscrew system smoothly pulls the fully shrouded nickel-plated connector shells together, assuring scoop-pro to wire cabling with up to 30 AWG. Teflon stranded wires for highly flexible, miniature interconnections that can carry up to 1 A of current. Board-mount designs include a full range of SMT and Thru-hole configurations and a great "edge-mount" flex-circuit format. Pin counts range from 15 to 65 positions with custom sizes available.

The new hard-metric 2-mm connector har-bus HM 6-row offers an additional row of contacts but uses the same space on the daughtercard as a standard 5-row variant. All connectors have the facility for coding and the option of end walls, thus preventing contact damage. A guiding system aids pre-alignment of the daughtercard and the connector. The solderable connectors withstand highest temperatures and support lead-free process requirements. Signal transfer rates of up to 2.5 Gbit/s can be achieved per differential pair, similar to an aggregate bandwidth of 12.5 Gbit/s/cm.

This new product complies with the k=2 option specified in TIA/EIA 604-5 (FOCIS 5 A-2). Other standards specifying this adapter configuration include OIF-VSR4-03.0, 10-Gbit Fibre Channel, Type 1200-MX-SN4P-1, and InfiniBand 4X-SX and 12X-SX. The product is essential for any application that requires the end user to manage the polarity or otherwise deviate from the original key-up/key-down protocol of mating two MTP/MPO connectors. That is of particular importance in premises LAN/SAN installations. The aligned key configuration is available in the standard flanged version with screw-mount holes as well as a rotated tab version and reduced flange version.

FINE-WIRE CONNECTORS

The SMT fine-wire connector, an insulation-piercing connector (IPC), is designed for solid, stranded, and tinselwire terminations. The economical design of the connector saves labor time and assembly costs by simultaneously terminating four wires within a sturdy plastic housing, thus eliminating the need to solder wires to the PCB. Its design also reduces labor by building on IPC technology, which allows multiple wires to be terminated without first being stripped. The design offers the least expensive method for wire termination, using minimal PCB real estate to allow for more components on the board.
