Locking screw options have been added to 0.635-mm-pitch high-speed interfaces (QTS-RA/QSS-RA series) for mating boards in perpendicular and co-planar applications. Pin counts from 50 to 200 are available for perpendicular mating of boards such as in daughtercard applications and horizontal (co-planar) "pizza-box"-type applications. Horizontal applications perform up to 1.75 GHz in a single-ended configuration. Typical applications include servers, routers, set-top boxes, network systems, switchers, hubs, bridges, industrial computers, test systems, and RAID systems. SAMTEC, NEW ALBANY, IN www.samtec.com

From the family of Pee-Wee connectors is a low-cost, high-temperature, thermoplastic panel receptacle connector. The connector is one of a family of subminiature, high-voltage connectors for use in high-voltage applications where dense electronic packaging is required. The connector uses a unique method of sealing high voltage at reduced atmospheric pressure, which allows the connector to be rated at 12k VDC at 70,000 ft, with a temperature range of –55° to +125°C. The size 22-pin contact accommodates up to 22 AWG wire. This receptacle is intermatable with the existing line of Pee-Wee plugs. REYNOLDS INDUSTRIES, LOS ANGELES www.reynoldsindustries.com

The Euro-c circular industrial connectors reduce costs while maintaining reliable connections. These interconnect systems meet all industry specifications required by the European (DC key) Micro-c standard. They are ideal for a broad range of applications, including factory automation equipment, global positioning equipment, and medical devices. These Euro-c connectors have detents on the overmolded plug, which are an effective anti-vibration feature. The detents, along with gold-plated contacts, are intended to provide reliable mating. Shielded cable helps prevent electrical interference. MOLEX, LISILE, IL www.molex.com

Engineered for heavy-duty applications, this series of bi-level right-angle edgecard connectors provides double the contact points in half the space, while withstanding continual 150°C temperature. These connectors are made of a high-density dielectric material enabling them to boast a –65° to +150°C operating-temperature range. They also notably feature both primary and secondary engagement contact areas, with the secondary area recessed in the card slot. The 0.5" contact centerline spacing results in four rows at 0.1" spacing. SULLINS ELECTRONICS, SAN MARCOS, CA www.sullinselectronics.com

CONNECTION SYSTEM

The VHDM H-series connector for OEMs improves equipment performance in the field. The new interconnect can be integrated on the same rear-organizing stiffener with any combination of VHDM, VHDM-HSD, and VHDM L-series and can be designed into the same slot. This interconnect uses GbX-connector-compliant pin geometry for improved signal integrity, with an 0.018" PCB hole for improved routability, which reduces impedance discontinuities and via stub effects. Additional shield-compliant pins on the daughtercard wafer help reduce peak crosstalk by up to 50%. TERADYNE CONNECTION SYSTEMS, NASHUA, NH www.teradyne.com
