BOARD-TO-BOARD RF — The AFI connector is designed for board-to-board RF applications and ideal for the broadband and military-aerospace markets. To compensate for misalignment due to packaging tolerances, the AFI interface allows for a maximum radial misalignment of 0.8 mm and a maximum axial misalignment of 1 mm. The 50- and 75-Ω interface is available with single or multiple contacts to support either PCB stacking or daughterboard-to-backplane applications. AMPHENOL RF, DANBURY, CT. www.amphenolrf.com

RF CONNECTOR — The Positive Stop RF connector is designed for use with the newly launched Virtual Air AVA7-50 coaxial cable for wireless applications. It is watertight in both the mated and unmated condition and provides superior electrical and mechanical performance and an easy installation technique that gives visual verification that the connector is tightened to the proper specification. It takes less than one rotation with a standard wrench to take this connector to the final stage of its installation. ANDREW CORP., ORLAND PARK, IL. www.andrew.com

WATERPROOF CONNECTOR — For the demanding requirements of military field radio systems, a unique system of internal compression seals enables RF coaxial connectors that are completely waterproof, mated or unmated, without the use of expensive soldered hermetic seals. Homogenous dielectric material in the sealing system enhances electrical performance compared to hermetically sealed connectors. APPLIED ENGINEERING PRODUCTS, NEW HAVEN, CT. www.aepconnectors.com

SUBMINIATURE RF CONNECTOR — Ideal for commercial applications, the subminiature MCX and microminiature MMCX connectors feature snap-on mating for quick connection and disconnection. Straight and right-angle cable connectors in both series are available as crimp types for flexible cables such as RG-316 and RG-178 types and for 0.086"-diameter (RG-405) semi-rigid cable. Receptacle styles include PCB types for through-hole, surface, and edge mounting. The connectors are constructed with gold-plated brass body parts and Teflon insulators, with nickel-plated bodies available for additional economy. They meet the requirements of CECC 222200 and CECC 220000. DELTA ELECTRONICS, BEVERLY, MA. www.deltarf.com

F CONNECTOR — The three-piece PL130SC F connector is ideal for high-frequency applications like HDTV, DTV, and two-way high-speed Internet connections where reliability is paramount. A gold-plated center contact pin eliminates signal degradation over time inherent in standard F connectors. The connector features true 75-Ω design and pure PTFE insulation with ultra-low dielectric constant for superior propagation velocity characteristics. A full ½" crimp sleeve with interior retaining geometry ensures cable retention. An electrically shielded body reduces ingress and egress of spurious electrical induced signals. "WIRELESS" CABLE — New wireless technologies enable laptops and mobile phones to connect without cables and transfer data over radio waves. These miniature coaxial cables meet the electrical performance of the wireless protocols such as Bluetooth and IEEE802.11. High-performance coaxials up to 6 GHz with either single or double braids connect the antennas to the electronic cards. The coaxial cables have diameters from 0.2 to 30 mm. Materials such as PTFE, FEP, or porous PTFE allow high-performance dielectrics with heat resistance up to 150°C. The complete system is fully compatible with U-FL, UMP, and MHF connectors. SLIM BNC CONNECTOR — This 75-Ω connector has a 12-mm outer diameter and is compatible with the standard BNC interface. This allows designers to save precious space on center-to-center distance for panel-mount designs that require multiple BNCs. This connector was designed for a panel with 32 mid-sized 75-Ω self-terminated video jacks and 12.7-mm distance between jacks. This slim BNC is a totally crimpable connector and has a return loss of –20 dB up to 2.4 GHz. Different connector models are available for L-3CFB, LV-61S cables, and Belden 1855A, 1505A, 1694A, and 1189A cables. CANARE, LOS ANGELES. www.canare.com

COAXIAL INTERFACE — The W1 connector is a coaxial interface based on the 1-mm coaxial connector front-side interface specified by IEEE Std 287. Well suited for high-frequency applications from components to systems and instrumentation, the connector includes both a male and female sparkplug connector and a female flange-mount connector. The center conductor extends outside the connector, allowing for a direct pin overlap connection to the microwave circuit. The connectors have 50-Ω impedance, VSWR of –16 dB to 110 GHz, insertion loss of 0.7 dB on the sparkplug connector, and 0.6 dB on flange-mount connectors. ANRITSU, MORGAN HILL, CA. www.anritsu.com

SMA CONNECTORS — Operating from DC to 18 GHz, the new line offers typical insertion loss of <0.06 dB and VSWR of <1.15:1 with 50-Ω impedance. RF leakage typically measures <90 dB. Brass or stainless steel housings are available with gold or passivate plating options. Inner contact diameters of either 0.7 or 1.3 mm are available to accommodate varied circuit trace widths. The new series provides module manufacturers with several advantages, including reduced installation time facilitated by a single press-in operation, a reduction in centerline spacing for increased package density, and a lower overall cost of the connector itself. TWIST-ON CONNECTOR — Dramatically reduce coax cable termination time with the new EZ-Twist connector. No tools or crimping are required. To terminate, simply twist the connector onto the cable for a secure, high-performance connection. EZ-Twist also eliminates screw-on connections to outlets. Simply push the connector onto an outlet to lock it in place and pull to remove. This feature is ideal in high-density installations where space is limited and conventional connectors are difficult to secure to outlets. THE SIEMON CO., WATERTOWN, CT. www.siemon.com

TNC CONNECTOR — The EZ-400-TM-RA is a no-solder, right-angle TNC male connector for LMR-400 low-loss coaxial cable. This nickel-plated brass connector has a hex coupling nut, crimp outer contact, and beryllium copper spring-finger center contact. Using the ST-400EZ tool to strip LMR-400 cable to the proper dimensions and the 0.429" hex crimp common to all LMR-400 crimp connectors, the connector can be installed in under 5 minutes. That makes the EZ-400-TM-RA connector perfect for field installations. Its performance up to 6 GHz makes it suitable for use in broadband wireless systems at 2.4 and 5.8 GHz.
