HEADER FEEDER — This new microprocessor-controlled feeder fully automates header presentation and feeds pin lengths from ¼"to 1" at rates of up to 1 header/s. Sensors on the cylinders provide control feedback to the microprocessor. Designed to mount on various flex-cell placement systems with mechanical or vacuum adapter, the feeder height is 8" overall (for ½" pin-length headers). Height in the feeder slot area varies by placement machine model. Maximum feeder size is 27" long, 3.4" wide at the rear, and 2.85" wide at the feeder mounting area. AUTOMATIC PRESS — A completely automated ERNI Press Center third generation (EPC III) is now available for rapidly fitting PCBs with connectors—accommodating large and complex backplanes with hundreds of connectors and components. Through its modular design, the EPC III can accurately press on power terminals (SVA), HM connectors (ERmet), ERmet ZD, and DIN strips. The press handles connectors up to 250 mm long and circuit boards from 2 to 10 mm thick and can apply a force of 80 kN. Changeover elements facilitate rapid adjustments to other connectors at any time. ERNI, MORAGA, CA. www.erni.com

CRIMPING MACHINE — The CT 28 pneumatic crimping machine is ideal for loose-piece crimping applications. With the ability to deliver up to 1.95 metric tons of crimping force (at 6 bar), the CT 28 provides crimping power for applications up to 10 AWG. The new spring-loaded crimping head ensures proper terminal placement and promotes safe operation. The CT 28 is very simple to set up and operate and will accept many die sets. PULL TESTER — This new, easy-to-use, portable, tensile-strength pull tester is used to certify crimp quality of solderless-lug, ring, funnel-barrel, tongue, and spade terminals to wire. The MPT-500 Crimp Terminal Pull Test instrument uses handheld ratchet-action to exert pull-type force of up to 200 lb. The tester is ideal for use on the manufacturing floor, in the lab, and in the field. Accuracy is ±0.5% of the reading plus least significant digit. Resolution is 0.1 lbf. The instrument and handheld retention tester weigh 2.5 lbs. MIDTEL TECHNOLOGIES, ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL. www.midtelusa.com

COAXIAL-CABLE STRIPPER — Model 1246 is a versatile, adjustable coaxial stripper that can strip up to four levels in one operation. The machine is ideally suited for use in production environments and the manufacturing of coax-cable assemblies or jumpers. The 1246, which is CE marked, uses an all-metal cutter head designed to process a wide variety of coax from 0.76 to 10.9 mm OD, including semi-rigid. The unit's quick-change cutter head contains up to four super-thin, high-speed steel blades that are factory set to the customer's strip length requirements. INSERTION MACHINE — The new MPT-5LS is a magnet-wire-terminal insertion machine capable of inserting "Siameze" magnet-wire terminals and Lead Lok terminals. The machine typically inserts a Siameze magnet-wire terminal into a bobbin to terminate magnet wires, and a Lead Lok terminal is then installed to help secure the lead wire in the coil cavity as well as provide strain relief for the lead wire. The constant pressure of the Siameze terminal on the magnet wire and the retention features of the Lead Lok terminal provide a reliable, permanent connection.
