SOLDERLESS INTERCONNECT — This solder-less compression-style system connects parallel printed circuit boards with a single-piece solution rather than a traditional two-piece header and socket solution. This unique one-piece design eliminates problems encountered with two-piece systems such as elevated temperatures, coplanarity, mechanical strength, tolerance stack-up, and solder joint integrity. The rework and servicing of modules and subassemblies is simplified due to the solderless design, and the high strength beryllium copper contacts ensure durability and integrity in environments with high shock and vibration. The solderless compression system has successfully been designed into a variety of vehicle, communications, and medical system applications. METHODE, ROLLING MEADOWS, IL. www.methode.com

TRANSMITTER/CONNECTOR — The SPRTX Series of high-performance, low-cost, industrial RTD two-wire transmitters features a hermetically sealed miniature signal conditioner built into a connector housing. The SPRTX transmitter connects directly to a three-wire RTD probe. The transmitter conditions and linearizes across a dedicated temperature range providing a standard 4- to 20-mA current output. The output can be transmitted thousands of feet away from the sensor over two wires to an indicating meter, controller, PLC, computer, datalogger, or chart recorder. Each unit is factory tested and requires no field adjustments to achieve a full-scale accuracy of ±0.5%. Applications include high-temperature furnaces and HVAC. OMEGA, RANDOLPH, NJ. www.omega.com

ELASTOMERIC CONNECTORS — New Gold STAX connectors are zero-insertion-force (ZIF) connectors composed of alternating layers of conductive and nonconductive silicone rubber that require no soldering. Applications include chip-on-glass LCD substrates, as well as board-to-board connections in PDAs, test meters, medical monitoring devices, GPS units, radar detectors, and digital camera modules. Gold STAX feature gold-coated particles embedded within a low-durometer silicone, eliminating corrosion. These connectors provide lower contact resistance between irregular surfaces than traditional compression-style connectors or wire-based elastomeric connectors, while extending the working deflection range to between 5% and 65%. CARD-EDGE CONNECTORS — A new series of high-density card-edge connectors is engineered for horizontal board-to-board interconnection of 0.062 ±0.008-in. daughtercards. Notably, the right-angle connectors offer 50 signals per linear inch. These double-row, 1-mm contact centerline connectors may be specified in backplane wiring in security systems, computer peripherals, and the industrial, commercial, and consumer markets. Boasting UL and C-UL recognition, these right-angle connectors feature selective gold plating, and are provided with hairpin bellows contacts. Moreover, the series offers a signal contact-current rating of 1 A, and a daughter-card engagement force of 1.5 N nominal per contact. Devices are provided in contact configurations ranging from 2/4 to 50/100 (in single increments), and may be ordered with either PPS or PCT insulators. POWER CLIP — The Power Clip is a low-cost interconnection between two perpendicular power bus bars, used in "N+1" rectifiers, power supplies, and switching power supplies. The high-performance contact of the Power Clip provides low-voltage drop and superior amperage carrying capability. Because the clip accepts a solid 0.125-in.-thick nickel or gold plated rectangular bus bar tab, a mating connector is not needed. The float mount design enables the connector to be blind mated in the deepest racks. The Power Clip is rated for up to 300 A of continuous service. NO-TOOL CONNECTORS — A new line of three- and four-pin M8 "picofast" insulation avoidance connectors (IAC) are an easy, inexpensive, and reliable replacement for in-field repairs to damaged molded cordsets. IAC's are designed to provide easy assembly. No soldering is required. This "tool-less" design requires only a wire cutter for assembly (no wire stripping is required). The IAC connectors are designed to handle 22 to 26 AWG conductors and are rated for 4.0 A at 60 VAC/75 VDC. The IAC is offered in male or female configurations, with a cage-clamp strain relief that provides an IP-68 seal. TURCK, MINNEAPOLIS, MN. www.turck.com
