ITT Interconnect Solutions announces the immediate availability of its Trinity MKJ series mini-circular connectors in downloadable 3D model format on its interactive 3D web modelling application and website. Engineers can request a downloadable 3D CAD drawing at the site, which is then imported into their own CAD systems.

"With Trinity MKJ Series miniature circular connector CAD models now available, engineers have even greater design flexibility," said David Impett, product manager at ITT Interconnect Solutions. "The 3D modelling function is presented as a resource for design engineers to simulate different connector scenarios in prototype designs -- early in the design process."

ITT claims its MKJ Series MKJ0, MKJ1 and MKJ4 series connectors are up to 71% lighter and up to 52% smaller than equivalent military standard environmental interconnects, yet provide similar mechanical and electrical performance. Coupling mechanisms include threaded, breakaway or bayonet, with ITT's proprietary Pogo Pin sprung contact technology also available.

The MKJ0 connector suits everyday applications where space and weight are a design parameter, while MJK1 connectors cope with harsh shock and vibration environments.  MJK4 interconnects feature quick push/pull mating and unmating for fast breakaway disconnection.

All MKJ Series connectors are available with either aluminium alloy or corrosion-resistant steel shells and backnuts. The product range suits applications in multiple segments including industrial, medical, aerospace and military.
