Allied Telesis has announced immediate availability of four new Gigabit iMG FTTx gateway products. The new outdoor and indoor iMGs are designed to meet such requirements as support for IPv6 migration as well as improved economic performance. Two new outdoor gateways, the AT-iMG2524 and AT-iMG2504, combine integrated triple play and wire-speed Layer 2 and Layer 3 functionality. Designed for easy outdoor installation, temperature-hardened electronics modules mount in several models of environmental enclosures with fiber trays.
The AT-iMG2524 has a 1000BX (Gigabit) single-fiber bi-directional interface, four 10/100/1000TX LAN ports, and two FXS voice ports. It is optimized for residential applications. The AT-iMG2504 is the same form factor as the AT-iMG2524 but does not have the FXS voice ports. It offers a hardened industrial switch for data connectivity in such applications as utility, transportation and government networks.

The two new indoor FTTx units, the AT-iMG1525 and 1505, use the Allied Telesis two-piece indoor gateway design with multiple mounting options. Both products offer an auto-sensing 100/1000 bi-directional fiber WAN interface and USB host port. The AT-iMG1525 features five 10/100/1000TX LAN ports and two FXS voice ports. The AT-iMG1505 is identical, but again with the exception of FXS voice ports. The AT-iMG1505 is designed for residential, small business, and other applications where a small, economic five-port switch solution is needed for data services.

The new line of iMGs were featured at the 2011 FTTH show in Orlando, FL this week with Allied Telesis iMAP 9810 and SwitchBlade x3112 carrier-class access platforms. Both platforms support a variety of FTTx applications, including 10G, 1G and 100Mbps point-to-point active fiber solutions. Both platforms have been tested and certified for MEF 9 and 14 compliance, using the iMGs on the terminal side.
Additionally, the new line of iMGs, along with the iMAP and SwitchBlade x3112 access platforms feature operating software designed to be IPv6 ready. Allied Telesis will be rolling out a series of IPv6 features in software releases during 2012.
