BTC Electronic Components adds Trompeter's crimp termination tools to wire harness installer linecard

Nov 4, 2011

Value-added stocking connector distributor BTC Electronic Components (BTC - Wake Forest, NC) has announced an important expansion to its product roster. Trompeter, one of BTC’s 31 franchised/authorized lines, has concurrently announced an upgrade to its line of wire harness installer tools -- specifically the outer crimp sleeve tool which captures the braid of a coaxial cable to the connector body.

Success of this crimp termination is essential in delivering both the electrical and mechanical connector integrity associated with the Trompeter line of connectors, as noted by the companies. As an expansion to BTC's product roster, the new line of installer tools, designated the CT5, requires 25 percent less physical effort to achieve the same results as the company's CT4L, providing a definite advantage to the installer over the tool it replaces, says Trompeter. This effect is accomplished while keeping the physical size of the tool within the same dimensional profile.

Trompeter -- part of Emerson Network Power, a business of Emerson (NYSE: EMR) -- is a specialist provider of rugged long term reliable terminations for the wiring harness industry, for which BTC stocks and distributes a wide range of connectors, accessories and tools. Formed in 1980, BTC is a manufacturer franchised/authorized interconnect supplier for 31 premium manufacturers serving the aerospace, military, and commercial industries. The company is AS9100 Rev C, ISO 9001:2008, ITAR, and MIL-STD-790 certified.
