2010 IWCS/IICIT Conference issues call for papers

Feb 23, 2010

The 2010 IWCS/IICIT Conference, the combined event of the International Wire and Cable Symposium and the
International Institute of Connector and Interconnect Technology
, is now accepting abstracts. Billed as the premier venue for presentation of new and original technologies in wire, cable, and connectivity, the IWCS/IICIT Conference is organizing its 59th annual conference in Providence, RI.

Presentations of products and systems for communications, data, electronics, power, security, industrial, automotive/aerospace and specialty segments are eligible for the consideration for the Symposium. New developments in finished cable, compounds, coatings, tapes, yarns, fillers, shielding and strength members are all products and topics of interest to the Symposium audience, as well as new technologies in connectors, connectivity technology and materials.

Abstracts are invited from industry or academic professionals, from any geographic location, who are engaged in the wire and cable industry. Acceptance of abstracts will be based on originality, content, applicability, market
interest, and clarity. Papers submitted on accepted abstracts will be published in the 59th IWCS/IICIT Conference proceedings. All authors will present their work, in either oral or poster presentation, at the Technical Symposium portion of the 2010 conference. For academic and/or research papers, a special peer review procedure is available for a post-conference publication. In addition, the following awards will be given: Outstanding Technical Paper, outstanding Poster Paper, and Best Presentation. IWCS also invites papers on topics of interest to the wire and cable industry, but which do not meet the originality conditions, with those papers similarly being presented and included in the proceedings of the conference, but identified as being “invited” papers.

Abstracts must be submitted through the IWCS Web site: www.iwcs.org. All abstracts require the following: title, author(s) and description (up to 500 words). Deadline for submittal is April 30, 2010, with notification of accepted abstracts made by June 12, 2010. Completed papers are due via online submission  by July 31, 2010.
