Aerospace Systems Recognized by Lockheed Martin Corp.

Jan 30, 2003

MINNEAPOLIS--Aerospace Systems, a division of Nortech Systems, was recognized by Lockheed Martin Corp. as one of its STAR Suppliers. To achieve this designation, Aerospace Systems achieved 100 percent quality and 100 percent on-time delivery for all cable assemblies supplied to Lockheed Martin for a one-year period. In addition, Aerospace Systems met other established criteria for affordability and administration.

"Aerospace Systems joins elite company in receiving this award," says David Zalewski, Director of Subcontract Management with Lockheed Martin's Material Acquisition Center for the Mid-Atlantic Region, located in Moorestown, N.J. "We have recognized fewer than 100 STAR Suppliers so far, from a corporate vendor base that totals more than 5,000 companies.

"Because of Aerospace Systems' outstanding product quality, many of their products go directly to our manufacturing floor without inspection," adds Zalewski.

In December, Lockheed Martin personnel traveled to Aerospace Systems' facility in Fairmont, Minn., to present the award to employees and management, joined by Nortech Systems' corporate executive team and representatives from the city of Fairmont.

"We're proud to receive this distinguished award and look forward to strengthening our partnership with Lockheed Martin," explains Mark Nordquist, National Sales Manager of Aerospace Systems. "This award also validates our claim of leadership in building specialized cable assemblies for a variety of demanding applications, both military and commercial."
