Miniature Connectors — K01 Connectors are designed with 0.6 mm contact pitch for use where size and space is of prime concern. Featuring stacking heights from 4.0 to 8.0 mm, the products reportedly solve board stacking problems. Pin counts are from 20 to 100 positions using high-temperature plastic for use in SMT applications. The connectors are rated 0.5 A with an operating temperature of -40° to 105°C. Circular Connectors — These Nano Circular Connectors reportedly allow any number of contacts up to 46 in a diameter of 0.27". They accept wire sizes of 34 AWG and smaller and are available prewired per specification. Made of high-temperature polymers, the products are said to withstand temperatures up to 200°C and allow for several thousand mating cycles. Omnetics Connector Corp., Minneapolis, Minn.

Connector System — The Sealed Mini Universal Mate-N-Lok Connector System is a small, wire-to-wire and wire-to-board connector system. This dual-row product is available in two through 10 positions. It is suitable for household appliances and industrial and commercial applications requiring small centerlines and splash-proofing. Cycle durability is rated at 20, with reported contact retention of at least 8 lb per contact. The contacts are brass with preplated tin or duplex gold plating, and rated for 600 VAC/VDC at 9.5 A maximum. The housing is molded UL 94V-0 nylon. Tyco Electronics, Harrisburg, Pa.

Fiber Optic Connector — The Redel D Fiber Optic Connector is a snap-on/pull-off connector suitable for applications where space and weight are at a premium. It can be mounted onto 250 µm coated fiber or 900 µm tight-buffered fiber. A 1.25 mm zirconia ceramic ferrule reportedly provides optimum strength, reliability and optical performance. Circular Connectors — Micro-C Series Miniature Circular Connectors are said to meet the critical needs of the aerospace, medical and sensor industries. The products offer blind-mateability, reverse-gender capability, rugged metal shell construction and ground integrity in mated conditions. They feature a choice of threaded or J-lock bayonet coupling mechanisms and gold-plated, No. 24 gauge crimp, solder or PC tail contacts; 28 to 22 AWG wire is accepted. Board-to-board Connectors — Series 5602 SMT Microleaf Board-to-board Connectors are designed to meet miniaturization standards in the portable equipment marketplace. Applications include mobile phones, notebook computers, PDAs and other portable electronic devices. Mated height between boards is said to be 1.5 mm on a pitch of 0.4 mm with a small footprint. A range of pin configurations with standard counts from 20 to 80 pins are available, with contacts rated at 0.4 A. The maximum rated voltage is 50 V. Nano Connectors — These Nano Interconnects are designed for biomedical, high-tech, military and aerospace applications. Featuring 0.025" pitch, they can be manufactured in rectangular, circular or irregular shapes in a range of materials and processes. Contacts are rated for 1.0 A. Shell construction is metal or plastic. Single- and dual-row packaging is available and mounting choices include PCB, panel or wire-to-wire. EMI filtering and hermetic versions are also available. Subminiature Connectors — RPL Series Sub-sub-miniature Coaxial Connectors feature an interface that is said to satisfy FCC Part 15 requirements. These self-locking, 50 Ω connectors are designed for use at frequencies from DC to 8 GHz in a range of RF applications. They perform with a VSWR of less than 1.2 at 3 GHz. The products are made of nickel-plated, machined brass with gold-plated contacts and PTFE insulation. The mechanical quick-disconnect locking mechanism reportedly ensures that the interconnect will not disengage during use. RF Connectors, a division of RF Industries, San Diego, Calif.

Receptacle — The 8210 Receptacle combines a precision-machined shell with a stamped, three-finger beryllium copper spring contact. The contact accepts mating pins ranging from 0.008 to 0.013" in diameter, and the shell has a 0.012" diameter tail. Both shell and contact are gold-plated. With an outside diameter of 0.026", the product reportedly can be used in miniature connectors with grid spacing down to and below 0.80 mm. Miniature Connector — The Minisnap PC Connector is a plastic push-pull locking connector suitable for instrumentation and surgical devices. The product can be reusable or disposable, mates with metal shell connectors and is lightweight and touch-proof. Said to meet IP50 to IP54 environmental classifications, it can be specially designed to meet IP68 (fully watertight) as well. Plastic housings are available in three sizes with two to 27 contacts positions. ODU-USA Inc., Camarillo, Calif.

Junction Box — The eurofast Miniature M12 Molded Junction Box has four-port, fully potted nylon junctions that are available with four-pin single or five-pin dual outputs per port with optional power and signal LEDs. The four-pin model uses an M12 thread-size connection for power to the box; the five-pin model uses an M16 thread-size connection. Connectors are available in straight or right-angle styles. Operating current is 4 A per port, and operating voltage is 10 to 48 VDC. The total operating current is 2 to 4 A for four-pin versions and 3 to 6 A for five-pin versions. Coaxial Connectors — AYU-1 Series Cable-to-board Coaxial Connectors have a mounting area of 3.0 ¥ 3.0 mm (0.118 ¥ 0.118") on the PCB and 2.0 mm (0.079") height when mated with an applicable cable plug. The products are suitable for use in cellular phones, PDAs, wireless data collection devices and other telecommunications equipment. Dielectric withstanding voltage is AC 150 Vrms and temperature range is -20° to 90°C. J.S.T. Corp., Waukegan, Ill.
