GUADALAJARA, Mexico--Newark Electronics, a division of global distributor Premier Farnell plc, announced the opening of its first Mexico-dedicated warehouse. Located in Tlajomulco de Zuniga, Jalisco, the warehouse stocks high-demand electronic components for Mexican manufacturing and research and development (R&D) organizations and is overseen by Newark's Mexico-dedicated sales force.

"Newark is committed to being the premier source for electronics components in Mexico," said Sergio Buganza, general manager, Newark Electronics in Mexico. "With the new warehouse we are able to reduce shipment times to 24 to 72 hours, giving our customers the best service available."

One notable convenience of the new warehouse is that customers can stock their own inventory at Newark's facility. By entering into a commodity agreement with Newark, customers can reduce in-house inventory and administrative expenses.

Newark's warehouse inventory and more can be located in its catalog, a convenient resource with translated informational pages and pricing for the Mexican market. To eliminate unforeseen fees and additional import processes, Newark includes all taxes and fees in the item list prices. The Newark catalog showcases a huge selection of connectors, capacitators, fuses, resistors, semiconductors, test equipment, cable & wire, relays, sensors and switches offered from more than 350 top manufacturers including Tyco, Panduit Allegro, Littlefuse, Fluke, Tektronix, Alpha, Belden, Aromat, Omron and Vishay. The catalog is also available in a CD-ROM format at no cost.

Newark's Mexican operation is headquartered in Guadalajara, and has satellite offices and local account representatives in Monterrey, Aguascalientes and Mexico City.

In related company news, Newark also announced the development of an online ordering system in Mexico. Newark customers in Mexico can now order all of their electronic components online at www.Newark.com.mx. Ordering online reportedly will ensure accuracy, payment protection, efficiency and convenience for customers.

"In response to the growing number of Mexican businesses making online transactions Newark is offering an eCommerce solution for purchasing electronics components," said Sergio Buganza, General Manager of Newark in Mexico. "With more than 160,000 items from the top 350 manufacturers, our convenient and secure website is the most comprehensive way to order electronics components in Mexico. The online ordering system also gives immediate access to all of these products 24 hours a day, seven days a week."

When browsing the online catalog, customers can search for products by entering a designated Newark product number, manufacturer product number or English keyword. A "help" button allows customers to ask questions and request product advice in real-time with Newark representatives.
