Amphenol InterCon Systems licenses Ardent Concepts' compression mount connector technology

Jul 26, 2011

Ardent Concepts (Hampton, NH) and Amphenol InterCon Systems, Inc. (AIS), an interconnect manufacturer based in Harrisburg, PA, have announced a licensing agreement for Ardent’s RC Connect-R technology.  Under the terms of the agreement, AIS will incorporate Ardent’s RC Connect-R technology into its compression connector portfolio, enabling the company to expand its product offerings in the custom connector segment.

According to Gordon Vinther, founder and president of Ardent Concepts, the licensing agreement reflects growing market demand for interconnect solutions, like Ardent’s, that deliver high signal integrity, support a small footprint, and provide the required electrical performance for next-generation electronics.

“Increasingly, companies like Amphenol InterCon Systems are coming to recognize both the performance and cost efficiencies offered by our patented RC Connect-R technology,” said Vinther. “We are pleased to have Amphenol InterCon Systems as a worldwide business partner. While providing them with an important complementary technology, we will be able to extend our market reach here in the US and internationally.”

Ardent’s RC Connect-R is a patented stamped and formed compression mount contact designed for automated assembly and high volume applications requiring tight densities. With proven RF performance, it allows engineers to design and build high speed, custom compression mount connectors for applications, such as computer processing units and field-programmable integrated circuits, where signal integrity is paramount. The RC Connect-R has also been tested and qualified for mil-spec applications.
