Multi-Contact will display its electrical solar power connectors and junction boxes at the upcoming Ecobuild sustainable design and construction exhibition, in London.
The company's original MC3 and MC4 model plug connectors will be on display. These are used for linking PV arrays, and snap together to form a high reliability connection that uses the proprietary Multilam technology for low contact resistance. These plugs can be used with cable cross-sections up to 10 mm sq.

Also on display will be the company's MC4PLUS connector which has similar specifications, but is pre-assembled with cable cross-sections of 1.5, 2.5, 4 or 6 mm sq. It is rated for currents up to 30 A and voltages up to 1000 VDC. The product's sealing system ensures environmental protection to IP65 and IP67 when mated, and IP2X unmated.
Designed especially for the automated production of thin film solar modules, Multi-Contact's new TwinBox, also on display, is a compact PV junction box. Its small size is achieved by integrating the MC4 connection technology within the box, which minimizes the amount of potting compound required. In addition, the shorter connections lead to savings on cable costs.

Another junction box being highlighted at the London show is the company's Westlake, which is also MC4 compatible. The box's low profile design allows it to be installed directly under the solar module frame, saving installation time by removing the need to bend the connecting ribbons. Additional protection is provided by the projecting cover, which prevents the cables from kinking where they exit the cable sleeves.
Ecobuild takes place at the London ExCel exhibition center from March 20-22, where Multi-Contact will be found at booth N3256.
