As reported at Apple Insider, Apple is once again predicted to exceed expectations in its upcoming quarterly earnings call, with one analyst forecasting sales of 7 million iPads and 17 million iPhones in the second quarter of fiscal 2011.
Meanwhile, component makers for Apple's iPad claim that the company has released its roadmap for higher-resolution touchscreen tablets, but the project is still at the "initial planning stage", and that an upgraded iPad (dubbed "Retina") is unlikely to come at any point this year.
Elsewhere today, Apple Insider reports that Apple's manufacturing partner Foxconn is considering a $12 billion investment in new facilities in Brazil, with apparent plans to begin building iPad units in South America by this November. Via separate reporting, the Brazilian technology minister confirmed this information.
