General Cable (NYSE: BGC) announced that it has launched its collection of interactive e-catalogs on its company web site, www.GeneralCable.com, under the heading of Catalogs.
“By delivering unlimited content in real-time, General Cable will improve its efficiency by guiding new and existing customers to the right products and information,” says Lisa Lawson, Vice President of Corporate Communications, General Cable. “Our customers will work faster and more accurately, locating the information they need to complete specifications or place orders. The preliminary feedback on the interactive e-catalogs has been very positive.”
Clicking on any of 16 catalog thumbnails initiates interactive search of General Cable's inventory of cabling products, whereby customers can look up product and technical information; share pages with a colleague; print or download a page, range of pages or the entire catalog; and review product-related videos right on the page where a product resides.
“The new interactive e-catalogs tool aligns with our company’s strategy to minimize our impact on the environment whenever possible,” added Lawson. “Our customers are also environmentally conscious, and they reward us for our green efforts with their loyalty. So, the possibility of reducing print costs and paper consumption associated with traditional marketing collateral gives us an additional reason to embrace this technology.”
