Data centers to drive 5-year growth of Ethernet Switch market, forecasts Dell'Oro

Dell’Oro Group forecasts a rejuvenated Ethernet Switch market in 2010 that will continue to grow annually through 2014. The growth is expected to come in large part from sales of Ethernet switches optimized for larger data center deployments that are being driven by virtualization, together with the improved economics of fewer, larger data centers.

Phyworks says its PHY2210 equalizing cable transceiver enables cable manufacturers to extend the reach and reduce the gauge of active copper cable assemblies supporting all standard data rates 1 to 10.5 Gbps. The transceiver provides a single design platform for multiple protocols, suiting SFP+ active copper cables, Infiniband cables, 6.25G backplanes, Fibre Channel (1G, 2G, 4G and 8G) and Ethernet (1G, 10G) networks.
Legrand/Wiremold integrates audio/video into all cabling pathways

Legrand/Wiremold has completed a program to integrate audio/video (A/V) connectivity directly into its major wire and cable pathway products, including perimeter raceways, floor boxes, poke-thru devices, architectural columns, infloor ducts, worksurface modules, and in-wall products.
Korea's ASIA cites Mentor Graphics for reduced wire harness design cycles

ASIA Company, a wire harness supplier based in Korea, says it has made "dramatic gains" by deploying Mentor's CHS software. The tool has reportedly enabled ASIA to add significant automation capability, cutting wire harness design cycle times by up to 75 percent.
